This Privacy Policy explains how Happy Paws Dog Training LA (“Happy Paws”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit happypawsdtla.com, fill in a form, call, email or message Happy Paws, or book dog training services. Happy Paws is owned and run by trainer Raquel.
1. Information Happy Paws Collects
Information you give directly, for example through the booking form, a phone call, an email or a chat message:
- Your first and last name.
- Phone number and email address.
- Your neighborhood, ZIP code or address, so Raquel can confirm your area and travel to your home.
- Preferred dates and times for a session.
- Details about your dog, such as name, breed, age, weight, behavior concerns, health conditions, vaccination status and bite history.
- Any other information you choose to include in a message.
Information collected automatically when you visit the website:
- Device and browser type, IP address, approximate location, pages viewed, time spent on pages and the website that referred you.

Information from third parties, such as reviews you post on Google, Yelp or Thumbtack, or details you share when you contact Happy Paws through those platforms.
2. How Happy Paws Uses Your Information
Happy Paws uses your information to:

- Provide phone and virtual support between sessions.
- Keep notes on your dog’s training progress.
- Keep everyone safe, for example by knowing about a dog’s bite history before a session.
- Send appointment reminders and service updates.

- Meet legal, tax and record-keeping requirements.
Happy Paws does not use your information for any purpose you would not reasonably expect without asking you first.

- To protect safety,when needed to prevent harm to people or animals.
- With your permission,for example when you agree that a photo of your dog can be shared.
4. Cookies and Tracking
Cookies are small files stored on your device that help the website work and show how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website may not work properly without them.
The website may include content from third parties, such as embedded YouTube videos, Google Maps or Google reviews. These services may set their own cookies and collect information about your activity under their own privacy policies.
Do Not Track: The website does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals. Third-party services embedded on the site, such as analytics or video players, may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites.
5. How Long Information Is Kept
Happy Paws keeps client and training records for as long as needed to provide services and support, and for up to [3] years after your last session for business, tax and legal records. Happy Paws uses reasonable measures to protect your information, such as password-protected accounts and limiting access to client records to Raquel. You can contact Happy Paws at any time to:
- Ask what personal information Happy Paws holds about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask for your information to be deleted, unless it must be kept for legal reasons.
- Stop receiving reminders or updates.
- Ask for a photo or video of your dog to be removed from the website or social media.
Happy Paws will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
8. Your California Privacy Rights
Happy Paws follows the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), which requires websites that collect personal information from California residents to post a privacy policy like this one.
Under California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section 1798.83), California residents may ask whether a business shares personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing. Happy Paws does not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing.
Happy Paws is a small, locally owned business and does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
